My Story

I have seen a group of strangers arrive in a beautiful place and leave as friends. That is the magic of women gathering and sharing their stories, their heartaches, their fears and their joy. It is a curious, reliable magic — and probably one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.

Why Heart Work Retreats Exists

I’m building a community of kind-hearted, open-minded women of all ages who value deep connection, nature, and beauty. My goal is to create time and space for them to meet each other and bond over shared adventures and stories. Heart Work Retreats will foster life-long friendships through creativity, travel, photography, writing, and irresistible sisterhood.

Imagine a weekend away, soaking in the company of other women, feasting on farm-to-table meals, enjoying flower arranging workshops, mini portrait sessions, sound baths, nature walks, playing with beautiful clothing, dancing beneath the stars, and forming deep soul connections. This is the mission of Heart Work Retreats: to create space and time for women to feel more alive and free — a place where individuality and belonging meld.

Where This Comes From

Everything about this path of creating a safe, connected, creative, empowering space for women is an equal and opposite reaction to my past challenges:

• I was bullied and ridiculed for my clothing as a child, so I want to make others feel as beautiful and empowered as they can.
• The feminine was looked down upon and seen as lesser.
• I had very few female friends growing up and was rejected by many groups of girls.
• I was taught not to trust my intuition and my own heart and mind.
• Journaling and sharing out loud and being vulnerable is so important to me because I had to keep everything secret and had a dual life growing up. Writing was a safe place for self-expression.
• Anything having to do with the natural world and its cycles was distrusted and discounted.
• The motherhood example I have is completely abandoning yourself and having no identity outside of your kids, so I want to build community and empower women to seek a different way.
• My dad kept files on my friends growing up. I now do it to better know and love every detail of them.

What I Believe

Every woman deserves a place to exhale — to adventure through beautiful, wild places, to be fully seen by women who get it, and to do the quiet inner work that makes life feel like hers again. That belief is the foundation of everything Heart Work Retreats is building.

Heart Work Retreats are a place where women can say to each other, “I have wisdom” — and also, “I don’t have everything figured out.” Empowerment and vulnerability, held together. Both are welcome here.
